Bass Fishing Florida - Fishing for bass in Florida waters can be a thrilling experience, if you know where to go. There's are tons of places throughout Florida to fish for Bass. However, the area's most over looked are the small ponds that can be found in local communities and neighborhoods all over Florida.

A few days ago I had the urge to do some Bass fishing. Instead of getting into my car, mainly cause of gas prices, I decided to walk around the neighborhood to find some local ponds. About four blocks south of my house I found a pond full of action.

After a few casts using a worm lure I caught a small Largemouth Bass. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to hook the bass and it got away. A couple of more casts and I was able to hook another small Bass. This one I was able to pull in.

I decided to throw one close to shore and reel it in slowly through the weeds. Within seconds and huge splash broke the surface of the water as big Largemouth sucked in the lure. I hooked it and fought it for about 30 seconds before I was able to land it on shore. It ended up being 5lbs and 24 inches! My biggest Largemouth Bass yet.

There are many places to fish for Bass in Florida but don't over look the small ponds in your local neighborhood.
