DuBois Park in Jupiter Florida

DuBois Park in Jupiter Florida

HDR photo of the Dubios Pioneer Home, the second oldest house in Palm Beach County that is still standing. The Dubois house was built in 1898 and now stands today on what is known as the DuBios Park. This park is located in Jupiter, Florida, right on the mouth of the Jupiter Inlet. DuBois Park is a favorite for many families on the weekends because of the crystal clear water and the white sandy beaches.

This HDR photograph was merged using Photomatix, detailed enhanced with Topaz Adjust and post processing done in Photoshop.

The picture is so beautiful that I want to live in that house! ;-)

My great-grandfather was Harry DuBois who built the house for my great-grandmother, Susan. When I was little the house was always rented out so we didn't get to see much of it until it was turned into a national landmark.

Mary, I am honored to have you leave a comment on this post. The Dubois Pioneer Home is a beautiful house with lots of history behind it. Thanks for your comment. :)

The house is still closed for renovations inside. I can't wait till it opens. I hope they keep a lot of the old stuff intact.

Nice vid Captain. Thanks! See you on PJJ

Thanks for the compliments...

Thanks for replying to all my emails, sent you a cup of Joe for your time:)

Jimmy

I'm glad I can help out, thax for the coffee!

Can you tell me what that book talks about and does it really help? Thanks for writing back to me too.

Its a great book, if you enjoy reading books I highly recommend it. Go down to your local book store, like a Barnes and Nobles, to check it out and see if you like it or not. That's what I did.

Your photos are beautiful. I have been using Photomatix and now i'm using Topaz Labs but I can't seem to get the effects that you are getting. I also have Photoshop cs3 Extended. Can you give me some tips on what to do please. Thanks.

My Advice:

1. Go back to the basics, I'm seeing lots of photos being HDRed that don't need it and are being over processed because it lacks visual interest. The basics of photography is composition, exposure, focus, point of view, isolating the main subject and a good crop goes a long way. Starting out with a well composed photo is the best advice I can give.

2. A trick I've learned in Photoshop, before HDR became popular, adjust the color and contrast of the sky and foreground separately.

3. Don't be scared to use Photoshop to get the image you want. If you don't like it you can always undo... lol! The best thing about being a digital artist, take advantage of it.

Hope this helps, Kimo
