Record Size Carp Caught with Bow & Arrow

Darin Opel, an Illinois angler who fishes with a bow and arrow caught himself a record breaking bighead carp weighting in at 92lb and 62-inch. The carp was so large that after 10 minutes of fighting, Opel was forced to jump into the water to wrestle it up to shore.

There are only three other known catches of giant carps of this size. One of them was from Texas weighing in at 93lb, unverified. The other carp was caught in Pakistan weighing in at 100lb which now sits in a museum. And the mother of all carp was caught in Thailand with a record weight of 256lb.

I have never caught a carp before and I didn't realize they can get so big. It's to bad carp don't eat bait or else I'd go fishing for one right now.

I did read an article on one technique to catch carp, which involves dough balls, lol. I'll try it out and post my result. Wish me luck!
