Website Update - June 19th 2009

You might have notice captainkimo's website layout has changed. I decided to go for the traditional 3 column look to accommodate ads which will help pay for hosting cost. Some of you are probably thinking, "well isn't hosting like, 3 dollars." No, not for me. I didn't buy cheap hosting service. Like my photo gear I prefer quality over price.

Among other things that have changed. I have disabled LightboxV2 on all the thumbnails so the image no longer pops up when you click on the thumbnail. But it will take you to the original page and there you will be able to click the preview to view the pop-up image.

I did this because some of the images have videos which gets overlooked because no one clicks to view the post. These videos take time to make and I would hate for them to go unnoticed. Eventually I will have a page that lists all the videos but right now there aren't enough to justify a whole page.

I'm almost done with the new and improved HDR How to Guide. This thing is massive with tons of information to get you started. Like I said before, I wanted to make a tutorial to rule them all and this one is gonna do it. I guarantee you won't be disappointed. The new tutorial should be finished by July.

Also I've been having a lot of Photomatix questions so I will be putting together a free Photomatix e-book which will be zipped together with samples and presets so everyone can try their hands at all this HDR fun. Look forward to it coming out around the end of July.
