Shimano fishing reels come in many different types for many different applications. I was personally looking for a Shimano fishing reel with multiple applications for an all purpose use. My interest was in a reel that I could take anywhere. Something that was light enough to carry, but strong enough to pull in a 20lb monster.

Rocket Fishing Rod - My first thought was "do our kids really need a fishing rod that can cast by itself?" Doesn't that take the fun out of fishing? My assumption about the Rocket Fishing Rod was wrong, it is a fishing rod but it wasn't meant to replace the traditional rods. The Rocket Fishing Rod is a toy designed for our kids to enjoy fishing.

I purchased this reel from Walmart on sale for $39.00 dollars. The reel spun smoothly like any other name brand reel, it also had the bait runner feature that I've been looking for, similar to the Shimano Baitrunner Models. I used this reel for a couple of months until the gears in the handle broke while I was reeling in a 15lb Amberjack.
